Take the ‘Labor’ out of ‘Labor Day’

Aug 28, 2019 | Annapolis

Most Americans believe that Memorial Day is the official start of summer and Labor Day ushers it out. So, the final days of summer are winding down and if you live out here on the East Coast you are likely anticipating that little nip in the air that says fall is on the way. Anyone who is a connoisseur of warm weather fare knows that barbecue and summer go together like peanut butter and jelly. I bet if you think back over the last few months you cannot even remember how many times you, your family and friends have gotten together to enjoy a meal with barbecue pork, steaks or other delicious meats as the star.

But we would like to remind you that barbecue is a wonderful choice all year round! May we boldly suggest that as the calendar turns from August to September you start by planning that Labor Day event and may we add that a good option would be to have it catered by Red Hot and Blue Annapolis. Don’t want to cleanup after a friendly get-together?  Then bring the party to our place! Red Hot and Blue Annapolis has a one-of-a-kind atmosphere that exudes good times while creating great memories.
So, this year, savor your Labor Day and leave the work to us. And by the way, here’s a quick lesson about Labor Day for those who don’t know its history. Labor Day is a national holiday created to honor the American labor movement and the many contributions of American workers that have made this country the land of the free and the home of the brave. It became an official holiday in 1892 and was created to honor the working classes. For the record – honoring workers is not a new idea. In many countries a similar celebration is held in May.
To all you hard-working Americans, Happy Labor Day. All the employees at Red Hot and Blue Annapolis hope you will allow us to make the weekend special.
